This is one flower I love to look at, but cannot be around. I love the colors and I love that they are so delicate looking. They, unfortunately have a fragrance that I just cannot be around. I head the other way when I see them growing. They date back to the 1600′s and were not introduced to the United States until the 1930′s or so. They prefer growing in cooler climates,
do not like the intense heat and if they are mulched they can last most all summer long. They can adapt to different areas such as railings and fences and planters. They are often used in bridal bouquets for their fragrance and their delicate flower petals, and the variety of colors. Growers in Ca. adapted and developed a way to grow the flowers to have as tall as a 17 inch stem. These are used for vases and bouquets. In England vines grow in lavish
gardens to be very tall and thick, with as many as 30 different color variations.

Hope your weekend was good.. I attended a bridal show and learned about arrangements for tables and bouquets and looked at ways to cut costs using a variety of artifical flowers and candle arrangements. AMAZING what is out therein the stores that are not as expensive as you would think them to be. You learn new things and begin to know just how this old world has really changed.
Used to be if you had a candle on the table or some flower petals you were doing good. WOW. those days are gone.. anything is possible now. With somany things to chose from no wonder my neice is having such a time of it!
I wish her luck I am glad I am not having to decide! ![]()
