For New year’s Eve each year I have fruit and cheeses,
some crackers, maybe some dips and chips and some nice
easy side dishes. maybe some little meatballs with
sweet n sour sauce or some ham slices. I usually
have some of the small crescent rolls that come in
a large container from Sam’s Club. This year.. the
rolls and the dips and chips are OUT!! I have
the ham slices but the meatballs are out too.
Had to re-vamp the whole menu so that mom
could have some too. I usually make this
One dip I loveeeee.. but is wayyyy toooo fattening
FRUIT DIP…
1 jar of marshmallow creme.. (small jar)
1 package of creme cheese (can use low fat kind)
mix those together and use about 1/2 tsp
of nutmeg . (or add it to your taste.)
Use this with all kinds of cut up fruit.
This dip is so rich, but boy does it go fast!!
I bet I get asked “where’s the dip?” too!
So I needed a change…
so this year I mixed coolwhip with
some flavored lowfat yogurt for a dip.
It goes over okay with mom and satisfies
the tastebuds too. Mom did so well at Christmas
that I thought DO IT AGAIN for
NEW YEARS!
So we will set up a table in the living
room with all the plates and food and we won’t
have a lot of heavy foods just light eating.
At bedtime I light a candle and say a prayer
for the new year. I also take time to think
of all the people I know who have passed on
either in my family or not. I have done this
for years on New Year’s Eve. I always think
that it helps to make the new year go a little
better.
My Dad passed away
back in 1994 on New Year’s Day. I think of
him and make a wish for everyone that we all
have a wonderful safe, happy, successful, healthy and
prosperous year ahead.
MANY BLESSINGS TO YOU ALL FOR THE
NEW YEAR 2008!!
NEW YEAR 2008!!
