What the?? This week is half over 
.. Geez.. Fall looks like it is knocking
on the front door. Was in the 40′s here overnight. I have many many tomatoes
coming out on my vines now and I sure hope the frost holds out until I
can harvest some of them.

today we stopped at another one of the small roadside stands and looked
at their vegetables. NOT GOOD. Same old problems.. even though
they were watered, clearly everyone is having troubles. The woman there

was selling baked goods and canned pickles to help with sales. Said
people just are only buying what they absolutely have to have. I can sure
agree with that. I tell you I sure do love the 10/1.00 sales at stores.
That and buy one/ get one free have sure helped us through some tough times.
Went to the Kro**R store today and boy the melons were 5.00 compared to
2/.5.00 elsewhere. They have nice stuff there, but you sure have to watch it
or you will get taken.
Talk here is all about how the price of oil and gas will go sky high
because of the wells being shut down due to Gustav coming. I got gas Tuesday

YES I AM VIBING… SUE knows what this means.. I have done it in
years past, but this year for some reason I just am getting some really
shaky thoughts about this weekend. I try to remain positive as I can,
but sometimes it is just overwhelming and this is one of those years.
If nothing happens, I will be the happiest person around. I am praying
for that very thing!! Just in case.. EVERYONE be safe out there!!!
Mom came through her eye surgery okay.
She had some laser surgery and
it took about 10 minutes. She said it was the easiest thing she had done in
years!! I, myself, are freaked the heck OUT over ANYONE AT ALL..
messing with my eyes. NO NO NO. I cannot take it!!!

FREAKED?.. yep I mean it! I hate eye drops and all that stuff. I had those
in my childhood when going to a specialist and I just guess I can’t handle
it now that I am grown up. (shuddering)

is that HILLARY made her speech last night
at the convention and I sure hope she convinced her followers to vote
for the party and NOT AGAINST IT.. I know she has heard about her loyal
followers swearing they will vote republican out of protest. TO me that is
just poor behavior to vote for another party just because your candidate
didn’t get the nod. 
ALSO.. Maybe you heard this, if not here is a link.. Detroit’s MAYOR
has been a real jerk
and causing all kinds of trouble there. He has been jailed and
released and broken laws and lied and REFUSES to step down
from his job as mayor, despite the council requesting him to do it.
WHAT A MESS this whole thing is.. I hope the GOVERNOR steps
in and takes him out!!! MHO the sooner the better.
I’m with you, "Stay the H*** away from my eyes!" Don’t like anything near them. Are you making salsa out of your tomatoes? I’ll trade you some Strawberry Wine for some salsa if you are!

I’m with you Caroldee – I’m just staying home this weekend. No major plans other than doing things around the house that I’ve been neglecting. I can feel my fall cleaning bug coming on already.
I went and picked up some groceries yesterday and was stunned once again by the total I paid just for 3 days worth of food and such. I used to pay the same for a whole weeks worth.

Sure glad to hear everything went well with Mom’s eyes. They’ve come a long way with those procedures.
We filled up too, but the price has gone up 7cents since. It’s always something, isn’t it?

Eye surgery is a walk in the park! I had 3 in one year! Day before yesterday our gas was 3.39, don’t know what it is now. Hope you have tomatoes before first frost! Temps in the 40s sound great. Have a great day. Hugs to you and ya mom!

Glad your Mom came through the laser surgery fine. I know when Don had it done, he was AMAZED how easy and painless it was even back then. And he said he could see immediately better right away! Hope this positive experience will help your Mom get through the test to come and their results…And no, I’m not planning on going much of anywhere this weekend, except to a couple of local barbeques. We’ll be sure sure to drive carefully there and back!
Glad your mom came through it all without a hitch. Bill has had a couple laser surgeries done and said that only one time did it hurt.
I thought that was silly to for people to say they would crosslines just because Hillary didn’t win. Why would you go from bad to worse, I’m not saying Obama is bad but that must be what they are thinking.

Wanted to throw in that your method of dieting always worked for me too. But it’s not now due to compulsive over eating. Having to be accountable each week will help, I think.I’m like you..the thought of anyone messing with my eyes causes me to freak. I HATE drops. Hate ‘em. I don’t mind as much if *I* am the one controlling them as when I wore contacts and after hours of overtime and dry eyes I needed some artificial tears. That was OK. I have often wondered why a hurricane in the Gulf will effect gas prices. First of all, they mostly pump natural gas, not crude oil for cars. Second of all, the stuff they’re pumping now won’t even go into consumption for another year. It’s just another excuse to raise the prices by the Big Oil company’s. Those same companies that don’t want to build more refineries (which would bring down the price of gasoline because more could get processed faster).– Fizz –
