I lugged myself out in the cold to the pharmacy today to pick up
a prescription written by my Mom’s specialst. The pharmacist said
to me… "You might want to put away your checkbook." ..
The price of 30 pills was $ 205.16..
I was in shock!!
"These pills are very expensive. they are prescription strength
Vitamin D." $205.16 for a VITAMIN!!!!!
WHAT?!!!
I told him to hold the pills and I would talk it over with
the doctor and Mom. He also told me that taking the pills
for one week ( like the dr. wanted her to take) would not
show any specific change in her in sucha short period of time.
The doctor ordered a bunch of blood tests after one week’s time.
GOOD GRIEF… expense upon expense and nothing would be
decided in just a week! I tried to call the office, and got no answer and no
machine there , so will try again today and see what I can find out.
SKY HIGH PRICES for something that would take a while to
take affect.. just makes me so mad. What in the world are seniors
supposed to do on a limited income for meds that are just
priced so terribly high? AARP and some others tend to help
out in prices, but they still seem to be so extreme for the
elderly who just cannot afford them.
I called two places in regards to seeing
if there is a price lower. NOPE it is a specific drug that is not
generic! A VITAMIN for goodness sake. HOW ODD!
Doing research today on it too.. to see what I can find out
on line too. I gotta say that was sure my shock of the week.
WHEW I just needed a little venting..
Thanks!!

Trying to get all the errands and such done today as the entire
weekend looks to be pretty bad. Rain and snow and some accumulation
for some areas. I hate shopping in that! Staying home and keeping
warm, time to bake again, this time to give away.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY!!
