NEW YEARS EVE!

Standard

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE DAY to you all!
A day full of cleaning and organizing showed
me I sure have more to do, so today I will
finish up. Mom wants the tree down and so
I have decided to give in and take it down
for the first time, before New years day, in a long time.
Guess she thinks it is more messy than beautiful
to look at now. Putting things away makes me
think of what has transpired this past 12 months.
WOW a whole lot. In my calendar book, that I daily
write in, it shows that on Jan last year on New Years
day 2008,  we had a foot of snow dump on us here. I shoveled
and snowblowed and still didnt get it all cleaned up.
I sure hope that doesn’t happen again. The forecast is for
at least 2 – 4 inches and  so surely we will have snow
on the ground.  It is getting old that is for sure and this is
just beginning of JAN. I need to hush though because it
could be worse.

AS for the news about HELL HOUSE.. the power company
had taken the house and disconnected it from the pole.
It had been turned off but they went a step further.
The asst city manager tells me that it is up to the owner
of said property or the new owner to either bulldoze it
or renovate it. So we will see. Rumor had it, that it was
on the list to be DOZED.. OH HAPPY DAY! Open-mouthed
Several other houses in the two block area are already
set to be torn down. ONE last week took them ONE DAY.
It amazes me how fast there is no sign of a building
that was there for over 40 years.  Literally nothing but
dirt left. There was clear weather though and so I know
they wait until then to do things.
It is a waiting game now as to what will happen. The
insides are so full of BLACK MOLD that I can’t see them
trying to remodel it. I will be looking in the days to come
for someone to place that familiar red tag and big X on
the front and then we will know for sure it is coming down.
##########################################################
We have no real plans for new year’s eve this year.
Sis will be working, so I will be cooking dinner of the
traditional black eye peas and cornbread and turnip
greens and ham for New Years DAY. I prepared a cassarole that I saw
Paula Deen make on tv, that I am sure we can use
on New years EVE. It says breakfast, but I don’t want a lot of
left overs so I will use it for dinner instead. I usually just have
snacks of chips or fruit and cheese and meat, but this year I had to cut
the salt so the chips and cheese and such were ruled out. I am sure it
will do just fine.

May 2009 be a year of peace, prosperity, change, health, happiness for
us all!!

CHORE DAY

Standard
I don’t know about you and your family, but here we hate
to have a messy house and dirty clothes for the start
of a new year. Monday was a day for cleanup and
making the place tidy for the coming year. It is just
something we do. Clean sheets, clean floors, clean
clothes etc. Mom started that tradition a long time
ago and I have followed it for years. Monday
went pretty fast being busy. The sun shone brightly,
and the day warmed up past 35.. to us that is pretty
exciting.Smile Wind was tough though and the chill
level as bearable only for a while. I pulled in
my poor porch flag which after two days of hard
high winds was whipped pretty good. Guess I will hold
off putting one out there for awhile. I thought the pole
was a goner with winds of 60 mph.. but no it made it
fine.
####################################################
While taking a break I heard some of Oprah show about the
guy who( linkhere>) SHOT nearly 80 dogs in a puppy mill or some
kind of a kennel that he had. I WAS APPALLED that he
was NOT arrested for it. NOPE  not against the law in the
state of Pennsylvania. Boy, that just burns me.. it should be against
the law everywhere in the USA. Baring teeth They are pushing for
stricter laws and that I hope will pass in 2009.
#####################################################
I saw this background image at glitterimages and it was
so appropriate.. we all will be seeing some real changes in
2009. I pray they are for the better for all of us.

WORD about HELL HOUSE coming soon as I can confirm
something ..stay tuned… Thinking
CELEBRATION, REFLECTION, RENEWAL & CHANGE
FOR US ALL.

SUNDAY & MONDAY UPDATE…

Standard
SUNNY SUNDAY
Saturday night the wind just howled. I got up and unplugged
Miracle for fear we would have a power outtage.
Sunday morning they reported that over 10,000 people in our
state lost power.

The sun finally decided to  shine brightly. It was a welcome
sight for sure. Seems like the whole month of December all
we saw was clouds, rain, snow or fog.
We had company as the “newlyweds” came to see us and
have a belated Christmas dinner. The weather being what it
has been, we had to postpone things because of ice and snow.
After lunch I went out to see the sights as the roads were
still pretty clear. Not much snow is left here. That usually means
we will get another blast.
The local river was filled with GEESE.. Lots of them.
Who says they all go south for the winter?

Got home in time to see history being made as the Detroit Lions
lost their last game of the season to the Packers and now they
own the only title of LOSING every single game of the whole
year. SO SAD.. makes me wonder just what the heck they
will do next year?
#################################################################
Well it is late I have just spent over an hour trying to get my printer
to work with this computer set up. Looks okay but will not respond. Sad
Back to the drawing board…read and learn more.

Miracle  will have to be patient with me because
I am still having trouble with the workings of VISTA . I guess
hands on experience seems to be the only way to do it. It all takes
time.
