HOW OBSERVANT ARE YOU???

Lately I have been changing my background here a lot.

I am posting all the

activities that are fun for families for SUMMER. How many

can you remember? Are any of them particularly

your favorites? Reason I ask is because recently I thought

about, "What was the most memorable or BEST vacation

I ever had?  

 

Now a vacation should be AWAY from your home.. and at least

more than a couple of days. It doesn’t have to be with family, but can

be. I thought of these…..

 

WITH FAMILY … it would have to be the first time we flew to Ca. to visit

relatives. THAT was memorable.. our first plane ride on AMERICAN

AIRLINES 707 at the time. This was when attendants were called

stewardesses and they dressed the part. We were served REAL MEALS

on the plane. I will never forget how it felt to look out the window and

be eye level with CLOUDS.

 

WITH FRIENDS…. OH BOY that is a rough one.. I think the most

memorable one would be the first trip I took with SUE and we toured

Michigan, even stayed over night in motels and had a blast. We 

crossed the border into Canada. It was the ONLY time I ever stayed in

that country. I never laughed so much, ate so much. saw so much and

had such a wonderful time. Oh for the good ole days of adventure!!

 

 

BY MYSELF… I traveled to Montana by plane from Ca. to meet up

with four best friends.  Sue lived there.

It was a monumental historic visit as some of us

had not been in the same room together in many many years.

It was a trip of a lifetime. I will go into that as soon as I can track down some

photos that seem to be missplaced right now.

 

Then I got to thinking.. where would you go if you had the chance to go

and money was no object and time was not a problem? I answered that

in about 2 seconds.. HAWAII!!  HANDS DOWN!! I loved the scenery and the

water.  

 

Well there aren’t any prizes for the ones that remember all the photo activiites

I have posted, but they all make up a great time everyone may have in the summer.

 AUGUST starts tomorrow and summer will be on it’s way out….soon

WEDNESDAY RANT DAY!!

Beth Marie suggested that once a week we have a Wednesday

RANT DAY to get things off our minds and out of our systems.

I agree it sure is a nice way to get rid of whatever is ticking

us off.  I hope I can come up with something good by next

Wednesday. LOL  AS for this week I can’t complain with

the nights getting down in the 50′s and the humidity low.

It is just amazing that we are breaking records for cool weather

and everywhere else they are breaking them for hot weather.

We sure are lucky! 

Noticed this bug on a daisy awhile back

not sure just what kind it is.. but it sure looked weird!!

The other day at hotmail ,.. don’t know if I did something

to change my options or not, but when I went to send an email

with a photo.. I could only load ONE AT A TIME!!! No more

editing etc either.

WHAT????  What happened to the checking each photo

and then sending them all at once??? If this is the new

settings at hotmail. IT SUCKS!!! I will send my photos from

GMAIL and be happy about doing it. WHY oh WHY things get so

messed up when they were working just fine? I sure don’t care for

the new way of doing it at all.  ANYONE ELSE have that trouble?

Hope I didn’t do anything to my machine.

The news is full of this swine flu stuff again. I dread what is going to happen

when school starts. I sure hope they take all the procautions that the

day camps have taken all over the country. If they would invest in

those ear thermometors and take temps… if the kid has a fever send them home.

It might help a lot. It seems to have worked for the camps.

The weather here has been bad and I have been unable to get

on line like I would like to. Seems we have had more lightning than

I really care for and MIRACLE is UNPLUGGED during that time.

Hopefullly things will be better today. I have no complaints though

since so very many are suffering in that intense heat and it just

won’t let up. This is one month I am soooo glad I am living where I

am. We do get breaks here and are very lucky. I am thinking of

all you folks in Texas and on the west coast. Stay cool however

you can.

Our town had the first

murders in 4 years a few days ago. The 2 people were not from

here, but from out of town. It is believed that the person who

did the deed is also from out of town. We rarely even hear

sirens here, so when we do, everyone is alerted to the troubles.

 

The new building that will house the fire trucks and ambulances is

almost finished. The have been working tirelessly to get it

finished as soon as possible. Having fire trucks sitting outside of town

well that just means a longer time before they can get to the

scene.

Gas is higher than the rest

of the state here. WHY I have no idea.. seems a lot cheaper if you just

drive a ways to get it. Those who don’t get to go out of town pay

2.48. Milk is NOT on sale here either.. I noticed it for 2.99 a gallon

the other day. Terrible when other stores have it for 1.99 and 1.59

a short 15 mnutes away.

I have noticed some small black spots on my tomatoes. Don’t quite

know what to think. I am now picking them when they are beginning

to turn instead of leaving them to ripen on the vines. Maybe that is the

wrong thing to do, but it is better than letting the black progress farther.

The recent storms

knocked many off and onto the ground. While mowing the yard I have to

be extra careful not getting them too.  I have notice since we got some

much needed rain, that there are volunteer morning glory vines coming

up near my fence. When the lawn is mowed again next door I am sure

they will cut them down. I am working to get them to crawl on MY
SIDE of the fence. Will be neat to see what colors they are.
