The day here starts at 4:30-5:00 AM three days a week.
Today while mom sits at her treatment center I try to
catch a nap inside the car while waiting. I found a nice
semi-quiet place in a parking garage. Parking in lots and
on the street is just not very easy. It was cold this morning
and I used the heater, a winter coat and 2 blankets to keep warm.
The employees of the local hospital came to work
at near 7AM and so there was no rest until they all
checked in for work. It’s early, not much is open in town.
Gas stations and one grocery store. The local bakery was
very busy. I took a nap and could not resist checking
in and seeing what was going on in there. One donut cost
75 cents. YEP.. I got one.. I was so hungry that my low
blood sugar made me lose my mind.
I left the bakery and went around the corner to
find this neat iron fence.
I parked the car and got out to see if it was real
IRON.. IT WAS! Now a days it would cost a fortune
to have one made like that.
Then I stopped at the local store looking for
milk that was advertised at 1.99 a gallon.
Gas went up to 2.89 in our town but there it was
2.85 so I topped off the tank. Sure went up in a hurry.
At 10:00 you could feel the temperature had dropped
at least 20 some degrees. No rain or snow and I was
grateful. I returned to the center to pick mom up
and she was late.. left there at 10:45 heading home.
Somehow it felt like it should be about 4:30 PM.. overcast
and windy.. the day was only half over.
FIRST day of spring…I saw my first Robin..
I was reminded that today was my brother’s
birthday. He would have been 53.
