MORE OIL UPDATES..

Here are some of the photos I took yesterday. I saw more than I could

believe. I smelled the horrible odor of oil. I feel for those people in the

Gulf area if this is even a tiny amount of what they are suffering with.

Anyone who is living along the banks of the river or by the lakes that

are affected will surely be affected for some time to come. I could only

stand near the bridges and wonder how long this whole tragedy will

last. A few minutes rolled by and it was all I could stand. IF this reaches

LAKE MICHIGAN I just shudder to think. The EPA is reporting that over a

MILLION gallons are in this leak. HORRIBLE thoughts indeed.

     

That is foam buildup as the oil rushes under the bridge.  Protestors who have been living along the river

and smell that stink. The sign says YOUR CRUDE IS MAKING US SICK!  The media is everywhere on so many

spots it is incredible 

We had storms yesterday

so I was unable to take a lot of pictures but will take more when I get back to the city

on Friday.  The wildlife I saw looked terrible..just so sad.. The Governor is ANGRY over

the way things are being handled by ENBRIDGE company and how much oil was lost

and not reported correctly. Our weather is better today and tomorrow so they are able to

do more clean up. EPA is in charge now so hopefully our area will get more help.

The RED CROSS is in charge of helping those who are staying close to the river and

can no longer take the fumes. I don’t blame them at all, I could only stand near

for a few minutes..Well that is what is happening in our area.. HOPE things are much better

where you are.

OIL OIL And MORE OIL…

It’s all over the news and will be for some days to come. Oil.. 280,000 gallons of it. Flowing through the pipeline that was broken. It is headed for Lake Michigan quickly. The Governor of Michigan declared the county a disaster area so that federal help could be utilized. They cannot work fast enough to keep it from making it’s way downstream with the water line so high due to the recent rainfall. More rain coming. It is a sad situation. Wildlife are being affected, just as in the Gulf States. We are a tiny spill compared to that one, but because we are seeing it up close and personal we see now with our own eyes how bad it is. BENZENE.. is what they are talking about now. How it will affect us in the future? I can only imagine how it will be on the wildlife. It’s a sad day around our town.. and it will be that way until all this OIL is GONE!! 

SUN SHINY DAY!!

THE SUN WILL COME OUT TOMORROW…..

Well it surely did! We have had two days now with NO RAIN!

Sure is nice and things are finally drying out. The ground

here was just so saturated you sank down in it when you walked

across it. My basement is finally beginning to clear up with me

getting over half a large tank full of water off that floor.

The smell is terrible, so today I am getting some of that scented

bleach to spray around down there to help avoid the dreaded

MOLD that will grow if I don’t.

Got so many errands to run today, that I put off because of the

storms last week. The crockpot is on,cell phone is charging,

the grocery list is made and the

car is gassed up. (Over the weekend gas went back to 2.85 a gallon

here after 2.72 last week, was glad I filled up early.)

Getting lunch made in a while and getting ready to take mom

to treatment again. Our days are full now, more than they ever

have been. Things don’t seem to calm down until night falls

and we can sit back and relax a little.
