WEDNESDAY RANT DAY!!

Standard
I know it isn’t wednesday but tomorrow is and so…
here goes..
I Haven’t written a rant here in quite awhile, but this just gets
my back up! When you use your atm card and make a purchase
in a store and ask for cash back..you SHOULD get your cash
back. You EXPECT your cash back.Sarcastic smile You shouldn’t have to
ask them to make sure you get your money! Three occasions
in the past two days I have had to ask why they did NOT
give me MY MONEY.. One young check out gal just looked
at me. I had explained to her that I wanted cash back before
I went and used my card. Proves some people do NOT LISTEN
when you are talking to them at all. Now when I go in the store..
I look for those aisles where you check yourself out. Light bulbWhy hassle
when you can do your own grocery check out and the machine
will ALWAYS give you the money back.Smile Thanks I needed that!!
(glad to get that out of my system!)

Isn’t that a beautiful auditorium? I placed a whole bunch
of photos at my wordpress blog about this wonderful old school
that is now closed due to the lack of students. I am hoping that
the city sure finds something to do with it before it gets run-down
and deteroriates.

HOT here again today but it will cool off by the holiday weekend.
Rain coming soon too so we will welcome that as well. The grass is
turning brown so I hope we get at least a couple inches.
So.. What’s everyone doing for the holiday?.. There is no holiday
for us really here as the dialysis center does NOT take that as a
holiday for them. Mom will be in treatment that day. I will plan a
nice meal when she gets out.

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE  A WONDERFUL WEEK!

BACK TO SCHOOL…

Standard
It’s another hot day here in Michigan. The ground is getting
brown and crunchy where we don’t water it, which means most
lawns around here in our town. School starts next week, and for
our town it will be a new start because several schools closed.
Now students are being bussed to new schools and placed
together where they weren’t in the past. So sad to see a very
large school sitting empty for the first time since 1920!
Most of us who grew up here just cannot wrap our minds
around that fact. It always was there and always had students.
Here sits a three-story building in excellent condition empty.
So many years have gone by and yet they improved and kept it
in tip-top shape.   All shiny and clean
no graffiti here. No disrepair.  From the balcony you can hear the echos of many students who cheered at so many high school performances. Every seat cushion in pristeen condition. Every stairway indented with the footsteps of thousands of students who passed over them. These photos were taken recently and not years ago.  They don’t  make them like this anymore..
Hopefully in the future, the city can find some use for this wonderful landmark building.

To me and countless others who went there it is a tragedy to sit empty. WHY??
Not enough students.. plain and simple.. the costs for keeping a three story building going to
the city without the funds was just too much. The city has dwindled to so few who go to our
local schools. It’s a terrible shame, but that is the way it is.
Thanks goes to Dana Schick for these wonderful pictures of our school.
