In my life I have had both male and female doctors,
Dentists. Chiropractors, and Physician’s Assistants.
I tend to like the women more for one reason.
THEY LISTEN TO ME!
There is only one
male doctor that ever really listened to me.
HE was my chiropractor! He was a board certified
orthopedic chiropractor and boy was he good.
I traveled 45 minutes to get to his office.. and
it was worth every mile. I trusted what he told
me and I did what he suggested and I was pain
free for over 10 years!!! I rode bikes and used
the treadmill and walked with ease and never
looked back. Losing him as my doctor was one of
the most painful things about leaving California.
Living here in Michigan I am back to where I was
when I first went to see him. It is sad indeed.
I have had some pretty bad experiences with
doctors. Some you just know are not going to
be worth returning to. Some you hope and pray
they will be okay, but they tell you to do things
that you just know your body won’t let you.
Some who act downright like they are GOD and
you must OBEY or else they will have nothing to
do with you. I trust NURSES more than
With patient loads the way they
are…some doctors really have to read your
last visit review before they know what the heck
you are all about. They look at you like you
were a complete stranger. I sure hate that!
Nurses are the ones we talk to the most,
on the phone and before the doctor ever
sees us. They are worth their weight in
gold in my opinion.
I had a woman doctor when I was young.
She was the best pediatrician in town.
She came to the house when we called and told
her my brother was sick. She saw his condition
and scooped him up and took him to the hospital
in her station wagon. Boy, she really saved his life.
He was so dehydrated by the flu that he was
out of it. She is retired now.. still lives in town
and BY GOLLY she knows who the HECK I am!!
NO kiddin.. as old as I am now…I see her in the
store and she says HI CAROL.. how’s your
MOM?.. GOOD HEAVENS!! I miss that kind of
doctor. Don’t you??
I can remember when the doctor would see you
at the last minute or even take calls at his or her home.
Those were the good old days..the days when
doctors had more than 5 minutes to spend with
you in that cubicle. The ones that knew your
family, would come to your house and you
could really trust. They wouldn’t keep you
waiting for hours until they came back to the
office. The nurse would tell you to go home
and reschedule the appointment for another
day. They welcomed a re-scheduled appointment
not scowled at you and act like it was a chore.
We long for the way it was, and not the way
it is, but we cannot go back.
We can only dream of a better day to come.
We will be getting a shot of warmer air..near 40
and maybe even some rain..YEP I SAID RAIN!
Yesterday I shoveled snow..and now this..
I just cannot keep up. Today at the store someone
commented that it seemed like spring was going to
come any minute the way things have been. Made me
wonder if that groundhog will have the same prediction.
Milk was 3.29 and gas was down to 2.97 for a change.
I bought some apples for 2.99 and they were
bagged and when I got home several were mashed
and no good. I HATE THAT!
If not for the gas and
the 15 min. drive I would take them back. I guess I
should keep closer watch from now on.
WELL.. hope your day is great and your week
goes smoothly too!
