Yesterday was Daytona day. We ususally have a lot of neat food and
enjoy the day completely. It’s the biggest nascar race of the year.
I find it strange that it is at the beginning of the season, but that is
just the way they set it up. Most sports have their final event at
the end of the season. The winner of the Daytona has to give up
his car to be on display for a whole year! Bummer. That would be the
car I would want in all the races to come, I am sure they do too.
I am hoping for a big day for my favorite Tony Stewart.
GO TONY!!  Auto  UPDATE..HE lost and the race was a rain out..
they called it with less than 50 laps.. always anti-climatic in my book.
Anyway with mom sick this year we have a really toned down
day. She had a litte setback yesterday. She was very tired and
didnt want to eat and that was pretty typical of a person fighting
off an illness. She tends to overdo and then pay later on.
She rested well ovenight and continues to try to keep a positive attitude
and that important.  Since mom was doing so well I decided she
could use a treat.
I made her some dessert  consisting of something called
Chocolate!! . Molten Chocolate cakes, to be specific.. I found it easy to make and
very strange. I don’t think I have EVER made a cake of any kind with
so little flour. It is a whole lot decadent that is for sure. Smile
I am glad it didn’t make more because we just could not eat a whole
big cake like that. MARO put the recipe on her space and so I decided…
why not??
They didn’t look like this for long.. as soon as they cool
they collapse or shrink like a souffle does. Tatse is great though.
I warmed one in the microwave for my Sis, about 10 seconds or
so, and they puffed back up. The recipe made 10 in a regular
muffin pan.  Very unique that is for sure.  If you want to splurge
this is the dessert for you.  Don’t think I will be making it until
next year!!
Sun shining here and it is cold…white stuff in the forecast for
Wednesday and Thursday. Guess that means I have to get my
errands done today.
PS You will have to ask permission to visit Maro’s Space.

  1. Yup, I’m sure Terry and Jack are already at the track waiting for the raced to start. I hope they got good seats. Such a bad sister for not taking me along huh lol.Have a great daySherry

  2. I haven’t kept up with today’s news about the Daytona except that earlier, they thought it might be rained out. Guess I’ll find out in tomorrow’s newspaper. 🙂

  3. OK, I’m not going to say anything about how happy I am with the results of the race. Mother Nature was in control…again. She helped my favorite NASCAR racer win the biggest race of the season! Thanks M.N.!

  4. Never been into Daytona day—but then, I am really un-American because I don’t follow Nascar. Loving all the rain we are having. Even though it has poured for almost three days, our ditch is just beginning to fill up. That’s how DRY it was here—all that rain has gone down into the ground….Don’t forget tonight is 24…

  5. oh does that look good , and eating them warm so yummy !!!i did not like seeing the race called because of rain, they should have heldout a while longer and dryed the track, nothing like a race to the finish.Have a good day and i hope Mom is feeling better
