In the warmer weather this week we sure have BUDS everywhere.
The peony plants are at least 6 inches tall. Last year this time, it
snowed on them and killed them all out. You just never know with
Michigan when winter is "officially " gone. Many a time in JUNE it
has been cool enough for sweatshirts and coats,Surprised (I know shocking
huh) anyway Thursday I went out seeking spring.
Here’s what I found.. some trees in bloom, very few flowers out yet.
Just get a look at the trim on that front porch. Three shades of
purple, with dark green. YES the house is empty right now.
What in the heck were those owners thinking?
The big news here in the neighborhood today was this..
The whole house and garage came down in less than 3 hours. Notice how green the
grass is. It has yet to be mowed once so far.
The man sitting there has his grandson sitting in front of him
watching all the action. He has lived in the neighborhood almost
as long as my family has.  Funny when big machines are working
men come from all over to just sit and watch. Kids are fascinated.
Our street was really busy with cars going by watching the action.
The last picture is of the whole side of the garage that came off in one
big piece. Pretty old run down building, came down in less than 5 minutes.
In other news.. last night while sitting here at the computer late.. I heard yelling
and then someone really screaming. I went to the window just in time to see
a young woman running up the neighbors driveway screaming, flinging her arms wildly.
A moment later I knew why.. SickYES. the dreaded SKUNK SMELL. SOMEONE,..
we have yet to find to who, was SPRAYED!  We could smell it indoors with the
windows shut. I feel sorry for the lady who ran into the critter.
UGhhhh she will never be the same I am sure. Word will get around and
everyone will have to be on guard when going outside.
Yuck it sure has started early this year. Darn!! I was hoping they were
gone forever!  Sad
It will be warm and sunny
here and YES I will be watching for those little critters when I go
outside. Wink

  1. Maybe ya all better stock-up on tomato juice in case one of them little stink bombers decides to go off. Especially since it appears their former home was destroyed. Great photos all the way around.Love ya!!

  2. Looks pretty there my friend, I hope our buds make it through this next cool down…sigh. We have a resident skunk that likes to wander around at night and when he gets close there’s nothing that can get rid of that smell until he (or she) moves on…whew!

  3. Nice pictures of your spring blooms there. Great demolition for viewing eh?Oh that smell can linger can’t it? Have a good day tomorrow!

  4. Hi Carol, I enjoyed you photo tour. You sure have a busy neighborhood with the house and skunk issues. lol I’d be one of the people out gawking at the house coming down and that’s for sure. That poor woman that got sprayed, eeeewwwww! I hope you enjoy your weekend.

  5. Great posting today with lots of news and pics. How did you get the pics to come out smaller than mine? I haven’t heard about skunks in Florida; probably they’re here somewhere. . .

  6. Lovely pics. I really feel sorry for the woman that got sprayed. She will need a bath in lemon juice.I hope you and mom have a great weekend.Hugs to you both.

  7. Great picture. Been looking for spring here in Wi, but it seems real slow. Little boys, both large and small, just love big machinery. Poor lady. I really feel for her. Just a small whiff of that when you drive through an area that’s been hit is enough to gag you. Have a good day.

  8. Nothing worse than the skunk smell. I had a 3 parter in my way early blogs about one who sprayed under my house. Oh My Goodness. HORRIBLE for weeks. I love it when you post pictures around town. Let’s us come visit you in a way.

  9. I’ve heard tomato juice is the only things that’ll remove the skunk odor! I wouldn’t want to find out! Great pics. There’s a purple house in our town. Different strokes for different folks would definitely apply! Glad to hear spring is finally showing her face in your area. We topped off at 95 Wednesday and 91 yesterday! Too soon for that!

  10. We had a skunk pass too close the other night when our windows were wide open—you never saw anyone move as fast as we did to get them shut! Some friends of M’s had a pair of skunks under their house and had to move out completely for several days until they were evicted! She said that smell got into all their clothes and furniture—bummer!

  11. Ewww nothing stinks worse then a skunk, It’s starting to look like spring here too and it puts a smile on my face.Have a great day!Hugs

  12. Not the dreaded skunk again! I guess he’s another sign of spring in your neighborhood. Feel sorry for whoever got it. You really did find some beautiful flowers and thanks for sharing them.
