HOW OBSERVANT ARE YOU???

Standard
Lately I have been changing my background here a lot.
I am posting all the
activities that are fun for families for SUMMER. How many
can you remember? Are any of them particularly
your favorites? Reason I ask is because recently I thought
about, "What was the most memorable or BEST vacation
I ever had?

Now a vacation should be AWAY from your home.. and at least
more than a couple of days. It doesn’t have to be with family, but can
be. I thought of these…..

WITH FAMILY … it would have to be the first time we flew to Ca. to visit
relatives. THAT was memorable.. our first plane ride on AMERICAN
AIRLINES 707 at the time. This was when attendants were called
stewardesses and they dressed the part. We were served REAL MEALS
on the plane. I will never forget how it felt to look out the window and
be eye level with CLOUDS.

WITH FRIENDS…. OH BOY that is a rough one.. I think the most
memorable one would be the first trip I took with SUE and we toured
Michigan, even stayed over night in motels and had a blast. We
crossed the border into Canada. It was the ONLY time I ever stayed in
that country. I never laughed so much, ate so much. saw so much and
had such a wonderful time. Oh for the good ole days of adventure!!

BY MYSELF… I traveled to Montana by plane from Ca. to meet up
with four best friends.  Sue lived there.
It was a monumental historic visit as some of us
had not been in the same room together in many many years.
It was a trip of a lifetime. I will go into that as soon as I can track down some
photos that seem to be missplaced right now. Sad

Then I got to thinking.. where would you go if you had the chance to go
and money was no object and time was not a problem? I answered that
in about 2 seconds.. HAWAII!!  HANDS DOWN!! I loved the scenery and the
water.  Island with a palm tree

Well there aren’t any prizes for the ones that remember all the photo activiites
I have posted, but they all make up a great time everyone may have in the summer.
Sun AUGUST starts tomorrow and summer will be on it’s way out….soon

HOPE YOU ALL GO OUT AND ENJOY THIS SUMMER DAY!!!

WEDNESDAY RANT DAY!!

Standard
Beth Marie suggested that once a week we have a Wednesday
RANT DAY to get things off our minds and out of our systems.
I agree it sure is a nice way to get rid of whatever is ticking
us off.  I hope I can come up with something good by next
Wednesday. LOL  AS for this week I can’t complain with
the nights getting down in the 50’s and the humidity low.
It is just amazing that we are breaking records for cool weather
and everywhere else they are breaking them for hot weather.
We sure are lucky!
Noticed this bug on a daisy awhile back
not sure just what kind it is.. but it sure looked weird!!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The other day at hotmail ,.. don’t know if I did something
to change my options or not, but when I went to send an email
with a photo.. I could only load ONE AT A TIME!!! No more
editing etc either.
WHAT???? Eye-rolling What happened to the checking each photo
and then sending them all at once??? If this is the new
settings at hotmail. IT SUCKS!!! I will send my photos from
GMAIL and be happy about doing it. WHY oh WHY things get so
messed up when they were working just fine? I sure don’t care for
the new way of doing it at all.  ANYONE ELSE have that trouble?
Hope I didn’t do anything to my machine. Confused
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
The news is full of this swine flu stuff again. I dread what is going to happen
when school starts. I sure hope they take all the procautions that the
day camps have taken all over the country. If they would invest in
those ear thermometors and take temps… if the kid has a fever send them home.
It might help a lot. It seems to have worked for the camps.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Have you seen this?  WATCH WHAT YOU TWEET!!
Oh boy  the power of the Tweet.. a lady put on her twitter that her apartment
was moldy.. What troubles occurred from that.. follow the
 LINK HERE .  Amazing..
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Well that’s it from here..

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

WEDNESDAY NOTES

The weather here has been bad and I have been unable to get
on line like I would like to. Seems we have had more lightning than
I really care for and MIRACLE is UNPLUGGED during that time.
Hopefullly things will be better today. I have no complaints though
since so very many are suffering in that intense heat and it just
won’t let up. SunThis is one month I am soooo glad I am living where I
am. We do get breaks here and are very lucky. I am thinking of
all you folks in Texas and on the west coast. Stay cool however
you can.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Our town had the first
murders in 4 years a few days ago. The 2 people were not from
here, but from out of town. It is believed that the person who
did the deed is also from out of town. We rarely even hear
sirens here, so when we do, everyone is alerted to the troubles.

The new building that will house the fire trucks and ambulances is
almost finished. The have been working tirelessly to get it
finished as soon as possible. Having fire trucks sitting outside of town
well that just means a longer time before they can get to the
scene.
Gas is higher than the rest
of the state here. WHY I have no idea.. seems a lot cheaper if you just
drive a ways to get it. Those who don’t get to go out of town pay
2.48. Milk is NOT on sale here either.. I noticed it for 2.99 a gallon
the other day. Terrible when other stores have it for 1.99 and 1.59
a short 15 mnutes away.
I have noticed some small black spots on my tomatoes. Don’t quite
know what to think. I am now picking them when they are beginning
to turn instead of leaving them to ripen on the vines. Maybe that is the
wrong thing to do, but it is better than letting the black progress farther.
The recent storms
knocked many off and onto the ground. While mowing the yard I have to
be extra careful not getting them too.  I have notice since we got some
much needed rain, that there are volunteer morning glory vines coming
up near my fence. When the lawn is mowed again next door I am sure
they will cut them down. I am working to get them to crawl on MY
SIDE of the fence. Will be neat to see what colors they are.

WELL NOT MUCH MORE FROM HERE..

HOPE YOU ALL ARE STAYING COOL TODAY!!

ANSWERS???

Standard

Well no matter what I did Monday I kept hitting walls all
day long. Automated phones and things requiring much patience.
The insurance company says press this and press that and then
the line goes dead.. Eye-rolling. The DMV is totally not reachable, they
suggest you come to their local office and do business during
office hours they list. Confused I gave up after the last call to the bank
and the teller would not give me info over the phone because
she "didn’t know who I was." Thoroughly understandable, but NOT
from MOM’S point of view. The always answer her and co operate
for her.

I decided to go to both pharmacies to pick up meds and low and behold
after callling it in 3 days before there STILL was a problem! Seems the
discounted prescriptions for 4 $ does NOT APPLY anymore on their new
system because the DR. wrote the thing for 60 pills instead of 30.. WELL
DUH  she needs it twice a day!!! Baring teeth After getting the same drugs filled
there for 3 months NOW they won’t fill it?? WHAT THE?? I stood there until
my legs began to cramp up, and told her to forget the discount I would pay
the price for it. What a MESS!!! Off to the other pharmacy who ALSO changed
their labels and system and UH OH… big long wait.. computers and printers
messed up and they were way behind.  Well I had had it.. just did me in
dealing with all this all day long.  Sure could tell it was Monday!! Sad

Best  part of my day… gotta call from SUE. Her power was out and it was
106 degrees!Hot YIKES.. thoughts  bounced back to the days when I lived in the valley out
there and I would just collapse in that  kind of heat .SunSorry for her, but glad
I was in a cooler Michigan. It has been doing that rain and then sun thing for
days here it seems. We are going down for  record COOL month of JULY.
NO 90’s here and it is unbelieveable that we even had some high 40’s and 50’s.
I am really leary now of what winter will bring us.

GLAD MONDAY IS OVER.. HOPE TODAY IS BRIGHTER!!  Keeping the good
thoughts watching the storms roll in from WISC and ILL.  Rainbow

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

TRAMATIC SATURDAY..

Standard
Well the GOOD NEWS IS.. we are all okay!!
The bad news is THE CAR IS DINGED UP!
Oh it can be fixed okay but it was pretty tramatic
for my mother.
We decided to go back to the city and buy up
some more fruit on sale. We went to a few places
first and then parked the car in the handicap spot at Krgr..
MOM was inside the car waiting. THEN…………

             >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
(SHE IS CROOKED IN THE SPACE)
Along comes an 80+year old woman in a large
van and she could not maneuver it very well.
This woman pulled into her space forward and
tried to take out the passenger side of our car.
Mom yelling and screaming…hysterically! To say
she was tramatized is saying it lightly. Crying

(THIS WAS AFTER SHE TRIED TO STRAIGHTEN UP
This crunch she managed

took part of the trim off her van door and a big ding
in our fender. )

Sis and I were both in the store and did not see
this happen. When we came out, mom is crying
and all upset because the WOMAN did not even
know she did any damage.
The woman could not WALK INTO
THE STORE. She had some employee come get her
in an electric cart and take her inside the store!
She never said anything about hitting any car to the
person who brought the cart to her. The people in the
store KNOW her. She is a regular customer and
the manager told us..very fussy and demanding, and needs
a whole lot of help. THEN WHY IS SHE DRIVING???

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
(IF SIS HAD PARKED INSIDE THE MARKS
IT WOULD HAVE BEEN REALLY BAD)
Forget about calling the police… in a parking lot
well that is not in the public street so they won’t come.
With the handicap sign in front of our car we could not
back up our car she was so crooked. WE waited about
45 minutes and then SIS( fed up) decided to hunt her down
in the store to get insurance info and get her to MOVE IT.
GOOD GRIEF… she acted like she had done nothing.
The asst manager of the store came outside with the
security guard to see what was going on. {ME…
OH YEAH  I took about 25 pictures.. from every single
angle.} The manager and the guard were shocked at
how the van looked in it’s space.

He moved the car and we left finally with her info.
Mom was exhausted. Her mind went to a bad place
thinking that the whole bumper of our car was ripped off
or something, but it wasn’t. We were very lucky!!
She can’t stand for long and
did not get out of the car.
The good thing was… IT COULD HAVE BEEN WORSE!
The bad thing was..how long had this woman been driving like
that?? The van was not small and if she could do that, what other
kind of damage could she do? Scary!!
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
When my father became ill and could not drive any more, he took
every opportunity to drive he could without our knowing it.
It became a game for him to try to get away with things. Many times neighbors
or friends would call and tell us they saw him driving or how awful it
was to see him all over the roads. Friends would come and drive
with him on country roads just to please that urge he had.
We finally
had to get rid of the truck he drove to keep him from under the wheel
of it. I do know how hard it

is to want to drive and you can’t. I have been there myself on many
occasions and it really is difficult to deal with. Giving up that independence is
just so very hard.

I don’t know what the laws are here in Michigan, but I will find out. I think anyone

over 80 should have to take written and driving tests before getting
their license EVERY YEAR! Maybe that sounds extreme, but at that age things
change so quickly that they need to be watched carefully!
This woman
came right beside our car and within INCHES of seriously
injuring my mother. I feel so sorry for those others out there who
will be in danger with her under the wheel!
You had bettter believe calls will be made the the DMV about
this,I just have to know some things and you all know how I am
when I am curious and HAVE TO FIND OUT!! Wink
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Let’s hope Monday is less exciting around here!

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!
