The weather here has been bad and I have been unable to get
on line like I would like to. Seems we have had more lightning than
I really care for and MIRACLE is UNPLUGGED during that time.
Hopefullly things will be better today. I have no complaints though
since so very many are suffering in that intense heat and it just
won’t let up. SunThis is one month I am soooo glad I am living where I
am. We do get breaks here and are very lucky. I am thinking of
all you folks in Texas and on the west coast. Stay cool however
you can.
Our town had the first
murders in 4 years a few days ago. The 2 people were not from
here, but from out of town. It is believed that the person who
did the deed is also from out of town. We rarely even hear
sirens here, so when we do, everyone is alerted to the troubles.
The new building that will house the fire trucks and ambulances is
almost finished. The have been working tirelessly to get it
finished as soon as possible. Having fire trucks sitting outside of town
well that just means a longer time before they can get to the
Gas is higher than the rest
of the state here. WHY I have no idea.. seems a lot cheaper if you just
drive a ways to get it. Those who don’t get to go out of town pay
2.48. Milk is NOT on sale here either.. I noticed it for 2.99 a gallon
the other day. Terrible when other stores have it for 1.99 and 1.59
a short 15 mnutes away.
I have noticed some small black spots on my tomatoes. Don’t quite
know what to think. I am now picking them when they are beginning
to turn instead of leaving them to ripen on the vines. Maybe that is the
wrong thing to do, but it is better than letting the black progress farther.
The recent storms
knocked many off and onto the ground. While mowing the yard I have to
be extra careful not getting them too.  I have notice since we got some
much needed rain, that there are volunteer morning glory vines coming
up near my fence. When the lawn is mowed again next door I am sure
they will cut them down. I am working to get them to crawl on MY
SIDE of the fence. Will be neat to see what colors they are.

  1. Mornin’ Sis. One of my sons unplugs his computers too. He has 3 going. If lightening starts hurling lots of strokes, this one also gets unplugged. No one wants an 1500.00 "I was too lazy to unplug" fiasco on their hands. :-)My small town (I don’t live where my weather comes from on my blog) also charges more for gasoline and everything else. Thing is, gas is like 12 cents a gallon cheaper 8 miles away. However, that’s a round trip of 16 miles..and you have to calculate if the gas used in going there would equal or be greater than the savings. I try to always stop there at the less expensive place when I am on my way to Knoxville or back. Works out great thatwaway. I am Rambling On this morning aren’t I? 🙂

  2. I am with you guys on getting the PC away from the power source during a storm. Probie was off line for a few hours yesterday afternoon and all night long. I always pick my tomatoes as they are just starting to ripen.Gas is back up to $2.48a gallon here.

  3. Lightning got our modem this weekend. It was the only thing left plugged in – don’t ask me why! We’ve had daily storms since Saturday. We have gotten relief from the heat because of’em! Got gas Satturday 2.17 – Monday is was 2.35! The crime rate in the Dallas area is one thing that drove us to move to the country. Have a great day.

  4. Safety first. These things are too expensive to take chances. Gas is up here again. From $2.38 two days ago to 2.48 now. Since the stations are always full when it’s down and empty when it’s up you would think a light bulb would go off in someones head.

  5. I ALWAYS unplug my computer every night before bed and usually even during the day when I know I’ll be away from it. We’ve had power surges here (yes I have a surge protector) and I suspect that’s what cause the damage in my laptop when one of the two slots was destroyed. Can’t be sure that was the cause, though. At any rate, I unplug it cause I can’t afford another one if this one goes…

  6. Staying cool? Oh yes, our high is 68 today and it feels like fall, we’ve broken records for cold set in 1942…the heat some experience is far from here… I dread the coming fall and winter at this point. I have no advice on your tomatoes except: don’t kill them! LOL, I’m a black thumb from way back so that’s my "wise" advice!

  7. that is scary when you have a murderer on the loose…~*:.♥.:*~ because you shared a smile :o) someone’s day got brighter… ~*:.♥.:*~

  8. I wish I were cool. It is not cool here. I worry about my electric bill. It’s been upper 90’s & 100’s for two full months… such is life in Texas, but it has been hotter than normal, even for Texas.
