I have been on one roller-coaster ride after another this week.
ON Monday I went into turn on Miracle and it did come on, BUT  it
definitely was SICK! Could not do much of anything. It had CRASHED
and just would not respond. I sat here in front of it in SHOCK. Surprised
ALL the VISTA operating sysem was really bad. SadTook me two days of
doing things to diagnose it. Removing things off and onto Discs to save them.
I could not get on line at all. It would not recognize my anti-virus or printer
no matter how many times I re-loaded them. I could not restore it or repair
it. WHAT TO DO??  By Tuesday night I made the decision to take my old
XP to the techs and have them fix it, if they could, so at least I could get on
line again. It would be cheaper than doing anything else.
Wednesday, in the pouring rain, I trudged the 15 miles to
see a tech and see what could be done. In 20 minutes I was back in business.
Not so wonderful news about Miracle though. The techs there told me that they
had had many VISTA operating systems do this and to wait.. in OCTOBER
WINDOWS 7 would come out and they could load it and it would be easier to
deal with. SO, that is what I will do.  MIRACLE WILL RISE AGAIN and EVEN
GUESS WHAT?  I found out after all that I really didn’t appreciate VISTA until
it was gone. I know .. I was the one who always said I hated it.. but after
awhile I got to like the convenience of it. It did a lot of things XP didnt do.
So now I am re-doing 8 months of updates and boy that takes time on DIAL UP.
It was on all night long and still did not finish them. I feel like I have been gone
for weeks from here. I know there is a lot to catch up on. Hope to get back in the
swing real soon.
Labor Day is coming. Here it will be cool and could be in the 40’s and 50’s.
REAL SEPTEMBER weather! I still have lots of tomatoes on the vines. I pick
them every day. I was hoping for some warm weather again for a couple of
weeks to get them all ripened. Will just have to do the best I can I guess.
Sure have enjoyed getting them and would do it again next year.
HAVE NEWS ABOUT HELL HOUSE.. no kidding.. I will save that for tomorrow.Wink

  1. Good for you to know what to try in order to fix the computer. Sorry it didnt work; but glad your old XP does. YES – we missed you.

  2. Oh I feel your pain! When ours crashed I was lost. Sounds like the same thing that happened to ours. Boy it sure pays to back up everything doesn’t it? I learned the hard way about that. Am glad your back now though.

  3. Sis, I sure did miss you as you already know. I hope poor Miracle feels completely better soon. She wishes she knew if there was an incompatibility that made her dizzy? Having the computer go belly up is a sickening feeling. There is nothing immediate that you can do and we also know folks get concerned about us and there’s no way to tell them you’re OK but the computer is not. I learned the hard way about backups..just like Sherry. Now all is backed up every day. That’s a good Vista thing I like. (((HUGS)))

  4. You bet I missed you. I am so sorry this happened to you. My new computer has crashed a couple of times and I will download Windows 7 as soon as I can.Hugs!!

  5. Glad to have you back! I’m working on Windows 7 now… we have to make sure that our software does what it’s supposed to do on Window 7. It’s a lot like Vista… in the work and feel.

  6. I sure did miss you. I hope windows 7 is the solution to your problems. It’s very cool here and this weekend the highs will be in the 60’s! Oh yeah, fall is right around the corner.

  7. You can ignore the email I sent you back—since you found a fix for the HP. (I always read my mail from the latest date to the earliest as that is how it is set up!) So glad you are able to get back online and get your old computer up and running again. At least if 7 works on the HP, you’ll have both computers so if this happens again, you can switch over. Having two working ones sure makes sense in this day of NO MONEY (for repairs). Glad to have you back!!!
