SUNNY TUESDAY

It’s a going to be a sunny Tuesday around here but oh so chilly!
In the mornings here it is down to the 40’s. Cold for September.
I have to mow the grass is so high it looks like a field
with all the rain we have had in the past week.
My mulcher mower won’t work too well in high grass
so I have to keep it short. Will be a challenge to see
if it actually goes or not. Some people mowed in the
light rain the other day. I just can’t see doing that.
I mean why get all WET while you work unless you
have to? This has been the wierdest summer I can
EVER remember. . We
at least get our share and this year we have been
really lucky. Smile
Not much going on around here. Saw a couple of men
looking at HELL HOUSE yesterday. Was comforted seeing
they were not the "druggie" types. What a relief!!
We got so much rain my tomato vines are turning
yellow fast. I picked as many as I could to try to
bring them into the porch which is warm enough to
ripen them. I cannot believe I have to do this so early.

Gonna put some
chicken in the crockpot so I won’t have to do much
for supper but a side dish. My kind of dinner!!

Went to the WMT store the other day and noticed that
all their GREAT VALUE items have new labels and
packaging and, by golly, I was right they RAISED
the prices on most of them after the new packaging. They
are even showing the new packages on commercials.
They claim the prices are better but NOT!!!
What a rotten deal!! Sad A place that is suppose to have
low low prices welllll that is NOT the case anymore.
Goes to show you have to be every mindful of what you are
buying and keep an eye on the competitors prices too.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Those fires look so bad in California. I sure hope things turn
better soon. Such a vast area and so out of control. Hope
that Hurricane in the Baja area sends some rain L.A’s way!

Well not much more here…

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

  1. I thought it was Tuesday…now I have to relive Tuesday all over agin!Pull out the flannels girl, chilly tonight!Bundle up to mow the grass. Who woulddah thought eh?Have a great Tuesday my friend.

  2. I think it’s been a really weird summer too, we never really had much for heat all season long and now it’s all over in a flash. I still cringe at the thought of winter. Ireland is quite cool right now too so that reinforces the feeling that summer is long gone. Better luck next year I guess. I’ve been seeing that terrible fire situation in California…sometimes I figure if the lousy government there doesn’t finish ther state the fires will. On that yippee skippee note: HAVE A GREAT DAY! LOL!

  3. Good Morning Carol. It is cold here too but it is to warm up to mid 80s by the end of the week. I never go to WMT as it is right across the store from Meijer. I buy everything in one place.Hugs!!!

  4. I’ve been disappointed in Wlmrt’s prices too lately. In fact, I’ve gotten so I take the time to go on down to Safew** instead. At least you’ve HAD some rain. We’re still stuck here in the DRY DRY DRY—the ground cracking and wasps making nests in the cracks—gotta watch where you walk. The garden corn didn’t make it this year, in spite of our watering system. Glad you at least have some tomatoes this year! Our melons are coming on now and are yummy, but small.

  5. Hasn’t this been a strange summer. I don’t think we hit 90 more then a couple times and its way to early to be in the 40’s like it is this morning. I don’t like Walmart at all and try to avoid going there as much as I can. We have a huge local grocery store here and they have huge warehouses and their prices beats the heck out of Walmart so I’m glad of that. Poor California, they sure get the fires there.I bet the insurance there is outrageous.Well you and mom have a great day.

  6. Glad you agree with me on the WM prices. I had blogged about the horrible packaging here a few weeks ago and that the prices went up. I asked and one of the clerks said something about new packaging making for higher pricing. i said " But it’s ugly!" She just smiled. I looked at graham crackers for example. Their GV brand is pretty poor tasting and in consistency compared to the name brands but..they are graham crackers and @ 1.39 a box, compared to 3.50 and MORE for the name brand @ Kr-o-ger, and even at WM, I bought them but the ugly white packaging came and suddenly the crackers are a DOLLAR more expensive. I refuse to buy poor quality for that much. I’ll just spend the money and get the good ones or do without.

  7. I suppose it all depends on how much time you have and how much running around you want to do to get the best prices. As much as WM annoys me, they still beat the competition hands down, especially when the only other choice is small town prices. Enjoy your sunny day and these fantastic temps!

  8. I try to avoid WM as much as possible. It’s not easy but we have a Shopko between my house and WM so even if the price is a little higher on some things it evens out with gas savings. I try to do my grocery shopping elsewhere too. The coming of WM has pretty much dried up all the competition in this city and I think that is there plan. Take everyone down and you can up your prices and not care.

  9. And, a happy sunny day to you too. Thank you for stopping by my space and for taking the time to comment the other day. Chicken in the crockpot and just a side dish is my kind of meal too. Quick and easy, that’s how I like it. Leave the hard stuff for Sundays and holidays. LOL
