PATRICK SWAYZE & MORE

Standard
Was so saddened to hear of the death of Patrick Swayze. It is rare
for a person to beat Pancreatic Cancer they say. I knew when it was
announced that he had a real fight on his hands. Two of my all time
fav movies are Dirty Dancing and Ghost. I own both and have seen
them over and over. It’s tragic that CANCER is still so hard to fight
when modern medicines are changing all the time. There isn’t a cure
in his lifetime, but I sure hope there will be in the future. Nasa can
spend so many millions on space exploration and such, but money
for research to help heal people welll not so much. Sad !  My prayers
go out to his wife and family, he will be remembered fondly for his
talents and his caring, giving and love for life.
His friend WHOOPI put it this way…
"Quoted from CNN News
"Patrick was a really good man, a funny man and one to whom I owe much
that I can’t ever repay," Goldberg said in a statement.
"I believe in ‘Ghost’s’ message, so he’ll always be near."

Was also sad to hear of the diagnosis of Lung cancer in one very
funny and fine actress Kathryn Joosten. Now you say  WHO the HECK
is that? Here she is and I think she is great. Was so happy when she
won her Emmy’s  for Desperate Housewives. I know she will
fight this disease, for the second time, now with eveything she
has got.

Monday was so busy here.. FINALLY we have water and it works
wonderfully. Funny how your mood improves when you have enough
FREE water. Bottled just doesn’t hack it. It reminds me that if our whole
system was contaminated how awful it would be to try to live or function
without it . Think I will buy up more for the wintertime just in case.
I have often wondered why there are expiration dates on bottled water.
IT’S WATER Light bulb WHY does it expire and if it does what casues that?
Too much running through my brain I guess. Confused Guess I will google
it later.

I really haven’t decided exactly what kind of camera I am looking
for. I am NOT FOND of focusing lenses and such. I like to
"point and shoot" mostly. Rapidfire is what my Sis calls it. taking
pictures of things and not stopping to check them until later. I see
it… I take it! We will see what comes up.
Took this picture last year on OCT 11..in my backyard. It is still
green this year, not even a hint of color.
The trees were in full
color in some places then. We are way behind that right
now unless something drastic changes soon.
Another nice day tomorrow they say. I hope to get much
accomplished.

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!

  1. The last time I saw Patrick was in an interview and he was so thin. He was busy filming a show that was going to on this Fall TV. I didn’t know he was exactly my age. He was a good man and very talented and will be missed. I didn’t hear about Kathryn. Oh I just love her acting, so real so good. How sad. You just never know. I need to look for good news! Good luck in finding the camera.

  2. Another great actor gone. I totally agree with your thoughts on a cancer cure. I never saw Kathryn but you don’t get as far as she did without talent. Leaves are falling off my walnut tree a pretty good clip. Hey, the easier it is to shoot the better I like the camaera. Good hunting.

  3. Cancer is a real villian isn’t it? I wish they would finally put an end to it but it seems to be a stubborn enemy. I don’t really know that actress but I’m sure she’d be glad to know she has a fan in you. I totally concure with you about taking pictures. I’ve been looking at the latest Canon PowerShot…it’s a sweet little camera and the 12.1 megapixels keeps beckoning to me…not to mention the HD video….I like to point and shoot but I like to point and shoot quality pictures and that fits the bill I would think. I’ve also looked at the Lumix…seems to have some nice features but so far the Canon wins out in my opinion. Blessings to you my friend.

  4. I was very saddened to learn of Swayzee’s death. He was an outstanding actor and I enjoyed his films very much. My sister Ebby died of pancreatic cancer. She was diagnosed on Jul 31st and died the first week of Dec. The thing about pancreatic cancer is the agonizing pain that no amout of pain med will help. We definitely need much done in cancer research. I enjoy the acting of Joosten too. She is a hoot!Hugs,Beth

  5. You beat me to it—was going to do a blog about Patrick Swayze (even though he wasn’t a number—I don’t think??). He was a fine actor and Ghost is still one of my favorite movies as well! He definitely WILL be missed. Have a good day and hope you find that elusive cameral!

  6. I loved Ghost It brought tears to my eyes at one point…as it was meant to do. Great acting on both he and Demi. I remember Michael Landon also died from pancreatic cancer…I still miss him.

  7. You know, I’ve owned several point and shoot cameras… I love the one I have now and will get another when it’s broken. It’s the Nikon Cool Pix… I have the S550. Great camera, wonderful photo color, great resolution. Something to think about.I agree. Pancreatic Cancer is by far the scariest, as there’s no cure. You can whip the sucker into submission, but there is not remission for this cancer and that is the scariest thing, to me. Patrick Swayze, I love Ghost and Roadhouse the best. My two favorites. I don’t own them, but I prolly will some day. Have a good one…

  8. Those are my two favorites of his movies too. He was so young and so talented. We will miss him for sure.I hope they find a cure for this dreaded disease in my grandchildren’s lives. I would hate to think of them getting it. I hadn’t heard of Kathryn having cancer again and sure hope she can beat it. I hope she’s well enough to stay on with Desperate Housewives. The show wouldn’t be the same without her. We’ve been without water a few times over the years and I sure do know what that’s like. It’s no fun at all!

  9. Those were both great movies, but Dirty Dancing is my all time favorite. Have it on tape, disc and the soundtrack too. So many famous people have died already this year. So sad when anyone dies of cancer and so young too.I bought a jug of vinegar today and noticed it had a use by date on it. Thought that was kinda funny. Good to hear you have one less headache to stress over. Take care and have a good one.
