WEDNESDAY UPDATE…

 FROST  IS COMING!!

What happened to the service people who did their job and
did it alone without the customer assistance? Is this just me
or do they do this all over the county? In ALL the cases we have
had in recent days and weeks. I have been asked to hold this or
get this or carry that, find this or do you have that? I am not
complaining a lot, just wondering if maybe the one man
jobs are not being totally done by the ONE MAN any more.Thinking
Mom picked up on this when the man who came awhile back
and looked into our garage door opener. Without me assisting
him.. welll his job would have been a lot longer. WAS I SUPPOSED
to do that? Hold this light, get this screwdriver etc.. I mean I know
the lighting problems we have in our home are not the best,
but do ALL service personnel do this when there is a person
who looks able enough? I DON’T OFFER.. THEY ASK ME!! Thinking

The only people who came here in the past 2 years who never
ask me to do a thing were the cable guys and YES there were
TWO of them. That could be why. Wink

Mom is not liking all the strangers in the house..
they might carry the flu bug.Confused We are very careful to spray
and clean after each person leaves. No need to
take any chances. Yesterday, the news stated that a perfectly
healthy 13 yr old died of the swine flu after about 4-5 days
with it. I cannot imagine the family’s shock. What in the world
must the people who have other underlying illnesses think now?
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Today I am cleaning out
furnace pipes with my dry vac and the service guy will be coming to
see how it  goes this year. I will NOT offer ANY assistance and
see if I am asked to do things this time too.  I will wear my mask and
dread the dust. This time of year always makes my allergies and
asthma rear it’s ugly head. Last night was cold but I was toasty!
Who needs a furnace? LoL  We have portable ones.
It will get down to freezing tonight here they say.. you heard that
right.. FREEZING or Hard Frost… so I will
trim up my tomato plants and take off all the ones that look
like they would ripen. I sure will miss my FRESH tomatoes
this winter. Sad
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
Thoughts and prayers go out to those in the Tsunami zone in
Samoa. One minute there is a quake and the next you are under
water. That to me is just so tragic and scary.
@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
If Michigan had a large enough quake out in the lake.. would all the lake water spill
over onto land? Someone on the news asked that question also yesterday.
The answer was YES.. I really am glad we are living far enough away
from the lakeshore. It’s a scary thought.

HOPE YOU ALL

  1. That IS a scary thought Sis. Anyone living near a shore anywhere at all has that reality to deal with.I have never been asked to help with repairs. If you leave them as soon as you lead them to the problem, they can’t ask and imply the threat that it will take longer. Think about it Sis.

  2. @Carole.. Must be just me because I was not even in the same building as the garage guy and he asked for help. As for the othersI was upstairs with mom and both service guys asked for help and the phone guy yesterday asked for help with light. I again was not in the room at all. WEIRD.

  3. That is annoying being asked for help…sheesh…maybe for the a discount in the service charge I’d help LOL! It’s gone cold here too, I think that the warmth of the summer is truly dead now…hights barely in the fifties and rain for as long as I can see in the forecast. Once that comes there’s no going back. I hope that we will be alright this winter because I’ve been concerned about it. Have a blessed day my friend.

  4. These days I think I’d ask/demand a discount for helping doing the job! I do not like strangers at my door let alone in the house. My dogs bark at any company and keeps them outside (people that is). I haven’t got my flu shot yet and they just became available now here. I best git it! How shocking for the family of the 13 year old. Very sad. Was the shot available before she got it? Oh the earthquakes I saw on the news, just terrible. They said there was one in Nevada too but I heard nothing since. Fall is here alright. Take care.

  5. Just not right with the service people!! That’s their job and they get paid good money to do their work!! I bring my service people water when it’s hot. But in your case, just not right!! Let me at them!!! GRRRR!! Happy birthday to your sister!!!! I had one on the 24th.That ‘Race For The Cure’ was awesome!! Lots of $$$ brought in and many new friends made!! VERY successful!!!Hope you are having a nice week my friend. You are the BEST!!!!!!Bob~

  6. What’s with those service people??? I am a single service person and I RARELY ask for help. I can’t say never, because there have been a FEW times I’ve needed someone to hold a flashlight for just a moment. Usually I bring my own lights if I know the job is going to be more involved. But once in a while a repair comes up where I need an extra hand or just can’t point that light in the right spot with the flashlight between my teeth! But to ask constantly for help….well, that just doesn’t happen with me. Hope all these earthquakes and storms in the Pacific don’t cause such an imbalance in our earth that the effects will be global. Worries me too. Happy Birthday to your sis too!
