QUESTIONS ANSWERED…

Standard
I set out today to try to get errands done and such, and at the same
time try to get some questions answered that were really bothering
me. I know it sounds like a bunch of rants but really I am kind of trying
to figure some things out.. Here goes…..

glitter-graphics.com

 ONE…
Yes the darn kitchen staff who work the weekend shift DO NOT
communicate with the ones who work the weekly
shift. The menu plan is posted and the dislikes etc of
the patient and their restrictions. Some kitchen staff
just ignore them completely. The thought of mom eating
stuff she shouldn’t or can’t tolerate just made me mad.
It hinders her recovery, including spiking her blood pressure.
It was brought to the attention of the administrator of the whole
place and I bet it was NOT the first time either. She has been
there over a week you would think someone would know
something and do their job!! The rest of the  staff try hard
to please for the most part, but some drop others the ball completely.
I, for one, cannot wait until mom is stronger and can get out
of that place.Confused
TWO….
DR’S don’t give a hoot what is going on and their staff
ASSUME more than they should. They schedule appointments
for people and DO NOT take into consideration the patients
age or condition. Imagine, if you will, sending an 83 year old
for a “sleep evaluation” overnight to see if they have sleep
apnea when the patient has no idea what the heck is going on
and has to rise early the next day to go to 4 hours of kidney
dialysis. Baring teeth WHAT??? You would have loved to have heard
that conversation wouldn’t you?? Well shocking.. I tried to remain
calm.. I explained that in mom’s condition she wouldn’t sleep unless knocked
out and she would just not tolerate that very well. The employee understood
me okay and said she was sorry that things got so confused. I have the
feeling we are not through with them yet.Sad

THREE…
Therapists are not always GOD’S who know it all!!
Who gives a 83 year old therapy and then sends them to
4 hours of dialysis???? Wink Whew.. do they think they
have that much energy? Sis and I had to set things
straight with the TWO therapists on site during the week.
PLEASE don’t tax her by doing BOTH in the same day.
She had THE worst day so far in the whole three weeks
she has been sick by doing both in one day. NEVER AGAIN!!
She had been in the place for over a week and we told them
but I guess not STERN enough to watch it!!! Job done .. won’t
happen again.
of that place.Confused
Well know you all must be getting tired of all this medical stuff and
what’s going on, but it sure is helping me keep things straight and
get some things off my chest.
THANKS!!!Red heart

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!!!

CATCHING UP AGAIN

My the whole weekend just flew by.. I can hardly believe that
tomorrow is Monday! Saturday was not a good day for mom.
She had trouble from the very start. Why the therapy people
decided to give her a session before her other treatment is
a mystery to me but WILL NEVER HAPPEN again if we have
any say so at all. Sis and I both had to show up at the center
where mom was because she had some kind of a "anxiety
attack." Now what exactly happened we don’t know for sure,
but we do know her blood pressure was extreme and her
state of mind was very confused. Scared us all pretty good.
By the time she got back to her "house"(what she calls
her room) she was doing wonderful. Sure is wierd. She
went without anything to eat from 9 AM til nearly 4:30..
they sent a snack or sandwich for her lunch but she
couldn’t eat it..EGG salad and potato chips.. ahhhh
NO WAY!! We rebelled loudly about that you better
believe it. IT WON’T happen again either.. They sure
need to get their act together Pronto!! Mom has been
exploring the place herself. Today she told us
that she was up early and rolled herself up and down
the hallway looking into the different rooms and places.
She said everyone else was asleep!! I guess she was
up pretty early!!

It’s been cold and rainy here and glad it isn’t snow.
The deer have been on the move. We counted 13
on Saturday and two bucks among the small bunch.
Glad to see they have survived the hunting season around
here. The young ones are sure fun to watch!
Homes in the area have sprung to life with all kinds
of decorations. People are glad I guess to put them
up before it gets any colder. I got rid of most of ours
this past summer so will just use what I have left I
guess.
Tomorrow, baring some other emergency, Sis and I
will be paying bills, calling the doctors and making
appointments for mom and running errands. It will be
a busy day.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!

TO SUE AND HER HUBBY

MANY MORE HAPPY YEARS TOGETHER!!

HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY!

FIRST SNOW!!

Standard

We got our first snow last night.. it covers the ground and makes it
beautiful..but doesn’t stay long or make the roads bad.
If only it could do that all winter long!
Mom had a good day yesterday. Was able to visit with her sister on
the phone and eat a “REAL MEAL” for a change. It was a holiday treat..
she doesn’t get another one until Christmas the dietician said. She
enjoyed every bite!!
As we sat there talking with her the deer began moving about
the property and it seemed to be a whole family. The buck looked
to be about a 6 pointer and there were three little ones.
Mom sure enjoyed the show because they came while it was light
enough to really see them. We turned off the lights in the room
so they would stay around a little longer. It raised quite a commotion
in the other rooms too.

No flash on the camera didn’t help as much as
I thought it would.. soo the images are blurry..
better luck next time .. I hope I get the buck!!

Well not much more from here. Spending my days
running back and forth to visit mom and praying for good
weather when she is on the roads at 5 AM in the morning.
Hoping that schedule gets cancelled and she gets a
later in the day timeslot for her treatment soon!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING

Gas prices are lower here than we thought they would be.. 2.55 some places
2.49! Traffic is heavy on our freeway as in many places today. I took our back
road out of town which was congested with truckers taking their corn to the
ethanol plant. Farmer’s life never takes a holiday until it is all harvested I guess.
Spent my first day at home in three weeks yesterday. I made pies
and prepared some food ahead of time.
It’s rainy and cold here, better than the flakes I say. I am still not
ready for that yet. The town has put up all it’s Christmas decorations
already and it is quite festive looking. When I arrived at the center
to visit mom while she had her treatment, they told me she had been
up since 4 AM.  The transportation left at 5:15 or so and her treatment
started after 6. She will have a long morning before she goes home
and can rest. She had an excellent day yesterday including some therapy
and says she hopes more days can be like that one. As she gets stronger
we all hope she will keep her attitude up and improve a lot.
