WELL I got my snowblower ready the other day.. cleaned up
the lawn mower and finally put it away. When mom got sick
everything in the garage came to a halt! They kept warning
about snow coming. I tend to listen close.. you just never know
where we live what will happen.
The snow hit but it landed mostly north of us. Smile I was so
glad.. I don’t have to shovel the 9 inches to a  FOOT of snow they got.
100 schools closed today so far and mostly because of the ice
and the snow still falling due to lake effect conditions.

Yesterday mom reported seeing wild turkeys and deer moving
across the yard in front of her window. It was quite a show.
She said to me.. "Snow is coming and they are looking to
settle someplace." It arrived last night! s I guess she can read nature pretty
good!! She had a long day yesterday started before daylight
and she was pretty tired. She mentioned that the lights were
still on the Christmas decorations when she came
into the town where her treatment is. Really beautiful thing to see
early in the morning. I took a picture but it was rainy and blurred.
Will try again later. The other day when driving back and forth
with mom I witnessed a migration of starlings. There were
hundreds of them swooping all over the place. I stopped the car
to get a picture and they swooped right on top of me. I guess they knew
what was coming too.
Scary it was like right out of the movie

Well it is Friday already and another week has went by.
Mom asked me if I had decorated at home for Christmas
yet. I told her I had done some things but not a lot.. just
don’t have the time or inclination really. I think she really
"thinks" she will get home by then, but she is still too weak
and unable to really get around good enough to do that yet.
Her therapy is slow as she has some bad days when she just
isn’t able. Sis and I will be decorating her room some with
items just in case. I will be having dinner with her there, and
Sis may take the day off too. We will just have to see. Thinking

  1. I hope your Friday is good too Sis. You, your sister and your mother have had more than enough to deal with.We are expecting a little snow tomorrow. The mountains will have 6 + inches..here, not so much but some. I’ll have Victoria handy to take pictures. 🙂

  2. Carol, I just want to reach out and hug you and your mom. I am so sorry that she isn’t home right now, I know how tough it is on you all. Do take her a little tree and a few other decorations. Thinking of you.

  3. What a treat that your Mom can watch out the window at nature and its changes. Our turkeys here are HUGE and can be seen puffing up their feathers on the frostiest of mornings! No snow here, but rain and LOW temps predicted for next week—not a good combination. I’m really hoping your Mom can make it home for Christmas this year. Good thing Sis is going to help you get ready so it will look Christmasy for her—and YOU too! Remember the reason for the season!

  4. It’s wonderful that nature puts on a awesome show for her. It’s good for her spirits. We didn’t get much snow here like it was predicted. Was suppose to get a couple inches but only got a dusting, which is fine with me.Have a good day and weekend.Hugs

  5. That’s really cool about your mom reading the signs of nature so well! I remember hearing such things from my grandparents used to say such things and hit the nail on the head…it never ceased to amaze me. I know that it can be a battle to keep the Christmas spirit each year but it’s a battle that’s worth fighting. I refuse to end the year and not let the Lord know I appreciate all He’s done. Forget commercialism, this is a cellebration of everything that we do have that He’s given. Bless you my friend, this week has rushed by again for sure. Grace to you and your mom both.

  6. Wow that really is neat that nature put on such a show for your Mom, bet that made her smile. How long has she been in there in there now? A couple of weeks I think. Still 3 to go till Christmas with a little improvement each day maybe she will get home, or maybe you can bring her home for the day and take her back in the evening? A lot of nursing homes allow that. Just something to think about and maybe bring up to them as the holiday gets closer.Snow missed us too….just a light dusting but plenty cold! Have a great weekend and good wishes to your Mom.

  7. I saw that picture of the birds and wet myself, Caroldee. Don’t do that to me!!Just wanted you to know that I mailed that card out today. I hope your mom likes it!
