EVER feel like you are reliving the day over again?
I mean in the movie Groundhog Day.. the main character
(Bill Murray) relived the same day over and over again
like a stuck record. Me.. going to the tendercare every
day is now so routine that I forget what the heck day it
is. Dialysis day started today at 5 am with a call from
mom asking me if she really had to go there. I told her
YES she had to go.. but  I really think it was the time of
day that made her NOT want to go. If she went in the daylight
hours maybe it would be better on her. When I arrived
to wait for her return, after treatment, someone said to me
HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY! I thought .. OH YEAH.. that!!? Smile
That little critter, no matter where he lives in the USA, probably
didn’t care for some guy pulling him out of the nice warm place
he was in to be sported to a crowd of yelling people.

Do we really believe the old myth or saying that
they can predict anything? I think the weathermen
can do all the predicting they want to and still be
wrong. Back when my grandpa was young they used
to use nature to predict things more than anything.
He could look at the sky and tell you if and when
a storm was coming or if spring would be early
by the way the animals acted. There was NO
big predictions from the TV weathermen back
then. I heard one  weatherperson speaking today about how forecasters
decided back in July what the groundhog prediction would
be.Surprised EL NINO sure messes everything up. This year has been
so weird for just about everyone in the USA in one way or
another. Poor groundhog has met his match with mother
nature. Wink
It’s been snowing lightly all day here and I am glad it is
lightly or we would have inches of white stuff to deal with.
Spring seems like a long way away on days like this.
I am making potato soup today for supper to try and warm up.
At least I can FEEL warm inside and dream of warmer days
to come.

  1. I saw that movie, it was hilarious. I’m sure you feel like you’re living the same day over and over again. That’s no surprise at all. Yes it snowed here and still is but just a little. We are having leftovers for dinner today. Hot pork sandwhiches and a salad.Take care

  2. Carol, I know how you feel. The last year of Jim’s life was like that. I didn’t know what day of the week it was. Made no difference what day it was, they were all the same. It will get better for you, it is always the darkest before the dawn. If you are feeling like this, just imagine how your mom is feeling. Prayers for you both.Hugs!!

  3. Pretty background! I like the movie Groundhog Day. I think I’ve seen it enough times though.I hope you have a nice day and your Mom is feeling better.

  4. I can just imagine you feeling like the day was being run over and over again. I don’t blame you mom for not wanting to go out the dark mornings but then it’s all over that much sooner. Give her a hug for me and one for you and your sis too.

  5. That sounds like such a weird time for such proceedures..I can hardly imagine that not being hard for all involved. I don’t believe in much that the groundhog does regarding weather prediction. Our state all too often has some of the nastiest weather ever especially if you dare to get your hopes up for spring…we often joke that June showers bring July flowers…if you’re lucky.

  6. At this time of the year, it’s really easy to get into the Ground Hog Day rut. I know we are. We got about 3 inches between last night and today. Hope it fizzles out before it crosses the lake.

  7. Hate that Groundhogs Day movie! I vowed when I saw it the first time, I’d NEVER watch it again! I don’t mind more rain this year. At least it might bring the level of our lake up some—eventually—with all the runoff it gets. It’s a BIG lake, so just the rains themselves won’t make much difference in its level right away. Potato soup sounds very nice and warm—do you use fresh potatoes or mashed ones???
