UPDATE!!

Standard

Mom is doing well today.. resting okay with many drugs in her. Trying to manage her pain is hard because she has more than one issue going on. Sudden onset of neck pain Thursday did not help. Surgeon said it was not caused by the small clots they found in her neck veins. So.. we wait until further testing to find out what is going on. She came through her surgery fine and we think she will heal well from it. She is alert and ate well and is anxious to get home. We spent 13 hours in the hospital yesterday waiting because of delays in surgery. Some families were still in the waiting room at 9 PM last night waiting for the surgery to end. It truly was a mad house in there. On top of that.. we have a storm watch for the whole state and boy it sounds terrible. I have packed a bag and filled the car with all the stuff we will need in case we have to stay over night there at the hospital if we get stuck there.

  1. Well I’m glad she came through the surgery ok, now to just fix everything else that is going on. Keeping you all in prayer.

It sure sounds like we are going to get hit hard this weekend doesn’t it. I don’t like it either and the wind chill is going to be awful. They say -20 here.

Take care and give mom a hug for me.

  2. Thanks for the update here and at FB. So glad to hear she came through the surgery like a trooper. She’s a tough one, that’s for sure! Blizzard warning here, but it still hasn’t gotten really bad. Rain, slushy stuff, more rain…back and forth. Pretty soon, it should be all snow. Hope it spares you, because you sure don’t need to have to worry about driving around in a blizzard!

    • Bad warnings here too Sis.. but we have decided NOT to be driving out in it at all. Mom is in great hands there and we will be staying home tomorrow when all that snow comes down. I have to be HOME to make sure the driveway is plowed out anyway. Winter BAHH HUMBUG!! 😦

  3. Ugh, the only people that like winter must be those that don’t need to do anything in it! We have such a busy season that the storms that roll through are a total terror. I pray that you guys all stay safe and your mom won’t be forgotten in prayer or sure.

  4. Truely pleased to hear your mum is coping with all that she is undergoing and still in good spirits , pass on my regards and best wishes from Aussie Ian and the Emu here in Australia , she is a special friend to both me and my Emu mate and she is in our thoughts often, give her our love and a feathery mushy kiss from the Emu

  5. Well, good to hear that your mom is ok. I’m writing your mother a prescription to get better. 🙂 And sending her good vibes from across the many miles along with warm regards and hopes that she will start feeling herself and soon.
I am praying that you and her have the strength and the peace to get you both though this.
    Stay warm … … … 🙂
