Grapes on a wooden fence surrounded by a wire fence. I took this back in 2010 of a neighbors fence and concord grape crop.

    • Unfortunately the grapes are pretty buggy and they don’t take care of them properly so they don’t use them for much of anything. Personally I think that is a real waste. The birds love them though. We grew large vines in our yard years ago and made grape jelly out of them, Yummy!

  1. Yes, vines LOVE fences! Our grapes are situated in our yard so as to act as a sort of fence, because when they’re leafed out you can’t see the neighbors behind us! Plus grapes are growing on our other fences surrounding our property too. Besides, if the vines cover the fence, then you don’t have to paint it! HA!

    • Sue.. that fence is at least 45 years old.. our metal fence was placed there in the 60’s, The wooden one is a lot newer but not in the greatest shape.
