It’s February!.. How the winter seems to go faster when the weather is not so snowy. This year we have had it very mild. Yesterday I heard yelling and looked up the 4 children were playing in the courtyard with a dog running and having a great time. NO SNOW and nearly 50 degrees. Hard to believe it is still winter when you have those conditions.Made it easier on me since I have spent most of the whole month sick with bronchitis. How I got it, I have no idea, but the Urgent Care clinic said there is a virus that has been spreading and just about everyone is getting it. I went through bottles of Robotussin and boxes and boxes of kleenex and coughed so much the neighbors knocked on my door wondering if I was “Okay”. LOL guess I should tone down the coughing some. I lost so much sleep being up nights I decided to buy some earplugs so I could try resting in the daytime. WONDERFUL IDEA.. it worked. It really helped. Took me days to rest up but feel I am over the hump of being sickly. HOPE it NEVER comes back. (YES, I say that every time I have bronchitis.) Still disinfecting my home and washing everything in sight I can. I declare it clean..wonderful..now if I can only keep those nasty germs away from me!So what’s else is new? Oh I finally got my tiny tiny cell phone replaced as it was 6 years old and no longer would keep a charge. Do I hang on to things? Not exactly, but it took forever to go through the hoops to get it a new one. The rep on the phone said “MY this cell is so old..surprised it still works at all.” Oh yes I explained I had tried many times to get someone to listen to me… IT really does not work well any more. It doesn’t even have a camera on it. Really old model but did work for what I needed back then. Now I have to wait a week or so for a new one to get here. I have no idea what they are sending me.. it will sort of be like opening a PRESENT. I welcome it!!
Been a long time since not wearing my boots and heavy gear for the winter. I found my boots in the hall closet and noticed they were not even salt stained or anything this year, not yet anyway. I think maybe that groundhog made a mistake. I heard winter geese calling and have seen birds building nests. Weird weather we have all been having all over the country and world. Things are sure changing at a rapid pace.
Hope this update finds you all well, safe and happy.
I am not really sure what is happening. It seems that we had the nice cold winter and some snow and then WHAM it got up to 60 for a few days and all the snow melted. We kind of enjoyed it and then I got sick.. YEAH first time in THREE years I got a bad cold from all that crazy weather I think. My sinus said.. WOW it must be spring lets RUN! My eyes said… let’s itch and get sticky. My joints and lungs said YEAH.. let’s have fun. NOW it is snowing again and COLD out. Very confusing. Back in 2009 it kinda did the same thing. It was a short winter for us here.
So maybe this year we will have an early spring. I just hope I am all well by then so I can get ready for the real SPRING allergy season. IT NEVER SEEMS TO END!
Boy this month went fast around here. I just made it back here to enter something before the month ends. Sad it has come to not posting like I used to. Life is kind of boring right now. Not much happening around here.
Snow cream..only made it once this year.
We had snow, rain, hail, wind, sun, just about everything in April. Must admit I liked the cooler or colder weather with all the trees blooming in between. It has really helped with the allergies. When the sun came out you can feel the intensity of it. I know that summer will come and when it does we all will be complaining about the heat.
Now the trees are blooming and things are coming back to life. I am really enjoying it. The neighbors are working hard on weeding and putting up birdhouses and feeding the birds. April is almost gone.
WELL here it is MARCH already, it came in like a lion snow and freezing rain. For the first time in YEARS I skipped a whole month with no posts here! Shocking for me for sure. I guess I posted on my other blog plenty though, that might just make up for it. We have had a very mild winter here in my neck of the woods. LOVE It.. Never remember it snowing 12 inches back in the old days and then two days later all melted to NOTHING. The kids around here have had a lot of snow days and love being outside in the driving snow. Ahh for youthful times when you loved playing in it.
I do wonder what is in store for Spring and Summer here too. Will it be ungodly hot and long? Guess we will just have to wait and see. We have seen a whole lot of GREEN this winter. This was before the snow fell again.. only days ago..
What happened here in February was a very sudden loss in our little complex. A lady who had moved in my building less than 6 months suddenly died of a massive heart attack. She was only 56, a lot younger than me. Sure makes a person think about life and loss and what things you still want to do. I got to thinking I had no “Bucket List” made of things left undone. I am working on it as of this writing.
Over the winter months I have read a lot of books. I found our local Goodwill store had books of all kinds at 4/1.00. I got a lot of reading time in. I came across several books by former presidents and first ladies. They have proven to be very informative about what it takes to be PRESIDENT of this country. In this election year it has helped me see that it takes a special knowledge and ability to do the very hard job of running our country. I will just say that it really opened my eyes to WHO was running for president and what abilities they have. Times are changing and we have to change with them, we wait and see how things work out. NOW we just have to
Not sure what these are but they seem to be everywhere in our yard, I love the color of them. Trees are slowly blooming and tulips are up in some places. I can say I was surprised to see them having the winter we did. Last two nights frost warnings so many flowers have wilted some in the cold. I sure love to look at the trees but my allergies have other ideas.
Lots happening here trying to find a new place to live and move on is number one on my list these days. I guess when the right place comes along I will know it. Waiting is so hard though. I just don’t want to wait until fall or winter to move. Starting early and hoping it will get me someplace soon.
Good news is my latest tests at the eye doctor tell us the meds are working so my Glaucoma is being treated correctly. I am happy and hope it stays that way for a long time.
Here is the most darling photo of my niece’s boy at Easter.. he had a ball playing at our local park. We got to spend some time with him and he wore me out. Has so much energy I wish I could bottle that stuff and use it sometime.
Took flowers to the cemetery and fixed it up nicely for Memorial day. I added some of those solar lights in the pots of flowers. It seems that lots of people are doing that here. Lanterns, figurines of all kinds and even some hanging ones. Nice to drive by at night and see all the lights shining. They look great!
Not much more from here, hope you all have a wonderful, safe
New growth coming from sides of an old stump. Some trees just don’t want to give up. Below is our river, nice and calm and the trees in bloom. Well I can dream of better more warm days. It can not come fast enough for me. These were taken spring of 2013.
